Breakfast. This One’s For You Mom.

Mom, I’m dedicating this post to you as you’ve worked hard to instill the importance of a healthy breakfast in me. I’m sure my desire to eat pie every morning for breakfast while home for the holidays is still fresh in your mind. You won that battle, but I’m sure there are some lingering doubts in your mind that I’m some sort of pie-eating monster while away from your guidance. So I thought I’d share my new favorite breakfast to ease your mind. Really it revolves around the Greek yogurt and the fact that I have gallons of it courtesy of Costco. Maybe it’s an acquired taste but I think plain Greek yogurt tastes like mushed-up cardboard. Luckily with granola, fresh fruit (I chose strawberries because they were on sale) and honey it tastes yummy. Kinda like a mushed-up pie.

  1. I feel truly honored that you dedicated the day’s blog to me. I must say, I wondered if it was going to be one of the more outrageous “mom stories.” Thank you for not sharing one of those…of course I wouldn’t have adknowledged that type of post. Now, the ones that reflect me as your person to look up to…I will respond to with happy fingers. I know right about now you are laughing out loud. As always love you bunches!!!

P.S. I am glad you ate a healthy breakfast instead of pie! Did you take your vitamins?

  2. Lauren- We are enjoying your creativity. The pie for breakfast reminded me of your trip downtown NB when Brayden got to pick his choice of ice cream

    1. The pies were great I just couldn’t have them for breakfast cause the game warden was shoving cheesy eggs and country ham down my throat. Lots of vitamins too. Still not sure about the health benefits of country ham…

  4. When our dogs bark, Ed says, “shut your pie hole”. I keep telling him that they have never had pie but he doesn’t get it. Should I give them pie for breakfast? Just a thought…

    1. Ha I can see Ed saying that. Yes! They are entitled to a little pie for breakfast. Maybe if Ophelia had some pie she’d be a much sweeter cat!

  5. And why is our yogurt, not that I like yogurt, need to come from Greece all of a sudden? Aren’t they having financial problems? Are they passing their yogurt off on us because they need the money?
